Digital Book Trailers...a Motivating Tool!

When tasked with this project, I wanted to choose a topic that is relevant not only as a future librarian but something that I could also apply now, as a current 9th grade English teacher. Getting students interested in reading really is difficult not only because of a lack of interest but, largely, because they don't know what they like. Finding the right book for students is, in arguably, the hardest task for both the student and teacher/librarian. Engaging students attention in a time of constant social media and interactivity requires a different tactic. Book trailers appeal to students' desire to be entertained and can "hook" otherwise reluctant students into giving a book a try. Yes, even when there isn't a movie version yet (sigh). This blog is designed to provide practical resources to not only justify why book trailers are a completely appropriate and useful curriculum took but also, equally important, how to actual do them. Enjoy, provide feedback and share your own sources if you so choose. Adieu.
